Neighborhood Ambassador Program

Bringing Every Corner of LA Into the Charter Process

Los Angeles is huge, with over 4 million people, hundreds of neighborhoods, and countless cultures, histories, and identities.

No single downtown meeting or public hearing can capture the full story of this city.

That’s why Rewrite LA is launching the Neighborhood Ambassador Program, a citywide activation designed to bring the Charter reform process directly into communities across Los Angeles.

What Is the Neighborhood Ambassador Program?

We are inviting local ambassadors from across LA to apply. People who love their communities, know their neighbors, and can help us bring this moment to life on the ground.

Ambassadors help us:

  • Introduce Rewrite LA to their community.

  • Identify and share local stories, ideas, and concerns and can act as an on camera host (if desired).

  • Help us gather your neighbors and create a space where their experiences, concerns, and hopes for LA can be heard and understood.

  • Encourage neighbors to vote on platform topics and sign up for assemblies.

  • Act as an on camera host (if desired).

How It Works

  • Anyone can become a Neighborhood Ambassador. Email us or tag someone on our Instagram announcement post.

  • Respond to the Google Form and include a 45 second video telling us:

    • Why you want to be a Voice for your community

    • What part of LA you represent

    • What issues matter most where you live

  • Description text goes here
  • You help us:

    • Pick a filming location

    • Spread the word locally

    • Invite neighbors to share ideas

    • Give basic context (what the Charter is + why this moment matters)

  • Our team films resident perspectives, gathers input, helps neighbors sign up for Rewrite LA events, and makes sure your community’s voice is represented in Charter reform.
